T13 (5/∞): Keeping Riley Busy This Summer

Thirteen Ideas for Keeping Riley Busy This Summer

Welcome to my 5th T13 (that's Thursday Thirteen)! Please use my "Mr. Linky" to leave a link back to your site (more traffic!)

School's out for Riley for the summer, but not for me. Here are thirteen things we've got planned to keep him occupied this summer:

  1. Vacation Church School
    mornings, Jun 11-Jun 15
  2. Sports Mania Camp
afternoons, Jun 11-Jun 15 at Life Time Fitness
  3. Swimming Lessons
mornings for 30 minutes, Jun 25-Jul 6, at Life Time Fitness
  4. Visit cousins
    whenever
  5. Extreme LEGOS and MatheMagic
    mornings, Jul 16-Jul 20
  6. Go For The Gold "Super Summer Camp"
all day, Jul 23-27 at Life Time Fitness
  7. Go to the Minnesota Zoo
    whenever
  8. Go to the Park
    whenever
  9. Visit friends
    whenever
  10. Minnesota State Fair
sometime during August 23rd to September 3rd
  11. Go to The Blast
on one or more rainy days
  12. Go to the Minnesota Children's Museum
    whenever
  13. Go to the Science Museum of Minnesota
    whenever

Fortunately for moi, number 6 on the list—the all day camp at Life Time Fitness—takes place during the last week of my "semester long" class they've managed to cram into eight weeks.

The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things. Trackbacks, pings, comment links accepted!

Wow, you sure are organized lol Only thing I have planned for this summer is a trip to Marineland. My girls are at the Tween age, so I just wing it because you never know what plans they have!

Happy T13

That sounds great wish I had my son that scheduled! What is math magic????? My son could really use some extra help in math!

What I neglected to mention is, as a SAHD—a phrase which here means "unemployed"—this stuff ain't cheap. Oh well. That's what the classes I'm taking are for (to eventually not be unemployed!)

Adele: Nope. Not organized. That would be Julie, AKA: the wife.

Mitchypoo: How long you been out of MN? Boy, you pegged it. The "Great Minnesota Get Together" is all about food (for some of us, that is!)

dawnae: the description from the link says: Challenge every aspect of your creativity and intellect while learning the basics of engineering, problem solving, critical analysis and even some magic! Each day you will construct a cool LEGO project, investigate how it works, why it works and how to modify it to make it faster, stronger or just plain better. Then, be challenged with an array of mind-bending puzzles, games and magic tricks all using math as a back-drop. This dynamic environment engages every student!

Riley loves math already, and what kid doesn't love Legos®?

Oh my, you're almost a neighbor (we're in Fargo!)

7, 12 & 13 we've done -- not this year yet tho.

Great list :)

I've been to the Minneapolis area a few times -- as a kid and with my kids. It's a pretty place and the museums are wonderful!

Thanks for stopping by, and if I inspired anything, well, then I'm saving up the cool points for a pony!

I've got a bunch of those on my list, too. And the pool. Can't forget the pool. And play with friends -- the more, the better. Kids need their friends.

Know what's missing in all this summertime running around? Time to write.

Must get more friends for them to play with!

Happy TT!

Thanks for all the great comments folks.

PoEt: Thanks for doing that. I'm very new to stumbleupon; I just heard of it for the first time the other day and signed up about 24 hours ago, then wasted a few hours stumbling.

I saw one blog that was submitted by the owner and thought of doing that myself, but it is nicer having someone do it for you!

Thanks again!
